Courtney Brandt has worked in development and emergency aid for over ten years, nearly half of which were with Medair. She has spent time in Asia, India, Africa, and most recently in the field with Syrian refugees in Lebanon. For two years prior, Courtney was based in Ango, D.R. Congo, one of Medair’s most remote locations, supporting health, water, and infrastructure projects.
Courtney received her bachelor's degree at University of California, San Diego in International Politics, focusing on how communities recover after war and regime changes in Africa and the Middle East. She is currently pursuing her MSc in International Management and International Relations at Oxford Brookes Business School. Upon completing her graduate studies, Courtney intends to return to the humanitarian aid sector to bridge the gaps between policy development and field implementation.
When not living in Oxford, England, Courtney calls San Diego, California home. And when limited to traveling with 15 kilos on small bush planes, Courtney is known to prioritize coffee, quality shampoo, her trusty Leatherman, and traditional fabrics for her never-ending quilt project.
